The AZES40-PPK’s body features a solid Sitka spruce top renowned for its dynamic clarity, atop chambered mahogany back and sides that reduce weight and enhance resonance. Chambering removes approximately 15% of interior wood, resulting in a lightweight yet resonant instrument. The Venetian cutaway and ergonomic bevels—armrest, chest, and belly—are CNC-carved and hand-finished to ensure maximum comfort and playability during extended sessions.

2 | Onboard Electronics — AEQ-SP2 Preamp & Sonicore Pickup

Ibanez’s AEQ-SP2 preamp provides a 3-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble), master volume, and an integrated tuner for precise tone shaping and on-stage convenience. The Sonicore under-saddle piezo pickup captures authentic acoustic sound with minimal feedback, ensuring clarity and consistency whether on stage or in the studio.

3 | Neck Construction — S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple

The one-piece maple neck undergoes the S-TECH WOOD thermal treatment, expelling moisture and stabilizing the wood for increased sustain and resistance to environmental changes. The roasted maple neck sports a satin finish and subtle amber hue, offering an immediately comfortable, “played-in” feel. The "Oval C" profile (0.83" at nut, 0.93" at 12th fret) balances chordal comfort with lead-line speed.

An Indian rosewood fretboard features a 10"–14" compound radius, facilitating easy chord work near the nut and wide bends higher up.
