Ibanez AZ24S1F-TKS — AZ Standard Series Electric Guitar | Comprehensive Overview & Specifications

Ibanez AZ24S1F-TKS — AZ Standard Series Electric Guitar

The Ibanez AZ24S1F-TKS blends professional-grade features with approachable design, delivering modern versatility inspired by the AZ Prestige lineage at an accessible price point. This comprehensive guide covers every aspect—tonewoods, construction, electronics, hardware, ergonomics, finish process, sustainability, maintenance tips, use-case scenarios, and warranty—culminating in a concise white-and-gray specification table.

1 | Body Design & Tonewoods

The body of the AZ24S1F-TKS is crafted from North American alder, chosen for its balanced tonal voice—rich lows, focused mids, and clear highs. Strategic chambering removes up to 10% of the body wood, reducing weight for player comfort and enhancing acoustic resonance when played unplugged. Sleek contours include chest, forearm, and belly bevels sculpted via CNC routing and hand-sanding, ensuring the guitar nests comfortably against the player in any position. These features provide a lightweight, resonant platform suitable for extended practice, studio work, and live performance.

2 | Neck & S-TECH WOOD Roasting Process

The one-piece maple neck undergoes Ibanez’s proprietary S-TECH WOOD thermal treatment, expelling moisture and relieving internal stresses. This process yields a neck with exceptional dimensional stability, dramatically reducing the need for truss-rod adjustments and enhancing sustain. The roasted maple develops a smooth satin finish and a subtle amber hue that enriches over time. The neck profile is an "Oval C" shape—0.83" at the nut, 0.93" at the 12th fret—delivering a comfortable feel for both rhythm chording and lead lines.

3 | Fretboard & Frets

A roasted maple fingerboard features a 10"–14" compound radius, accommodating open chords near the nut and wide bends toward the body. Ibanez fits 22 jumbo stainless-steel frets, prized for their hardness and bright attack. Each fret is hand-leveled, crowned, and polished to ensure uniformity and smooth transitions, while hand-filed fret ends eliminate sharp tangs. Glow-in-the-dark Luminlay side-dot markers embedded in the fretboard edge provide clear navigation under low-light conditions, ideal for stage use.

4 | Pickup Configuration & Electronics

The AZ24S1F-TKS features a versatile Quantum HSS arrangement: a high-output Quantum humbucker at the bridge and Quantum single-coils at the middle and neck positions. A push-pull tone control splits the humbucker into single-coil mode, unlocking classic Strat-style quack and clean tones. A five-way blade switch selects various pickup combinations. Shielded control and pickup cavities—lined with conductive paint—minimize electromagnetic interference, ensuring a quiet signal path suitable for both studio recording and live environments.

5 | Bridge & Tremolo System

The Gotoh T1502 two-point tremolo bridge provides smooth, precise vibrato and reliable return-to-pitch. Its stainless-steel saddles and hardened block maximize sustain and durability. The pop-in tremolo arm allows for quick removal and reattachment, while micro-tilt adjustment on the baseplate fine-tunes tremolo angle without altering spring tension. This system offers players expressive vibrato control while maintaining tuning stability.
